THE STORY
The original painting is in my collection but I will consider selling it. I was inspired by a student of Caravaggio’s painting of Mary Magdalene. While I didn’t expressly name it Magdalene, it has that energy and plays a suitable “other Mary” to my La Donna Incinta (The Pregnant Woman) painting that many have said has a Virgin Mary energy to it. Some of the spirit of a painting comes from my idea/concept, and the other part is made up of the model’s energy and style as well as my execution of the piece.
