Your decision to buy a print reproduction over an original artwork is a sound decision if:

  •  you know an original work is outside of your budget

  •  you are buying the art to enjoy in your lifetime (and not as an heirloom or investment)

Caring for your fine art print, canvas reproduction, or original art

  • Keep any kind of artwork out of extended time in direct sunlight and extreme humidity or temperature changes.

  • Frames protect paper artwork. You may also choose to get specialty glass which comes glare-free and with protective filters for your reproduction artworks on paper.

  • Oil paintings and canvas giclee reproductions do not need glass, they have been varnished/coated.

  • You can clean them with a soft, lint-free cloth from time to time, and there are instructions online for how to clean them more thoroughly if they should need it, but that would be years down the line. Oil paintings last a looooong time!

Here I am holding an 8x10 inch daffodil giclee on paper. You can see the original oil painting framed in the background.
