This painting was painted furiously, meaning quickly and with passion while I was feeling as gray as the sky. It’s based on a lookout spot in Vik, Iceland, minus a small lighthouse that I didn’t want to include. The figure is our adult son, Cedric but he could be Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights or another person as you imagine.

I used impasto and cold wax medium in this painting, so there’s a fair bit of textural difference between the thin background and the rocks in the foreground.

This piece is framed as shown in a warm silver floating frame (21.5”x25.5”x2”).
