I began painting these large irises against a background that felt either like another painting or a window. I left that open to interpretation. I loved the warm green behind the purple, it speaks of summer gardens.

I kept feeling the Monet vibe, partly because of the colors, but also the Asian porcelain bowl, so I added a water lilies fine art postcard to the table. It ended up being just what was needed to balance out that corner.

This painting is an oil painting on panel and measures 16”x20”.

*Price includes silver floating frame as shown, but I think it might look better in a more traditional frame (can do!).
