"Peonies and Poems" 16"x20" oil on panel

White peonies with strawberries, tea and a book of poems by Edna St. Vincent Millay. This oil painting on panel measures 16x20 and 17.5” x 21.5” in a warm silver floating frame. The frame may be changed (I think a wider, more traditional frame would be nice) at a small additional cost by request.
The colors in this piece work well with popular gray and colored walls, and like most of my paintings, there is an interesting blend of energetic brush strokes and a calming subject.
Without fail we have had a torrential rainstorm around day 3 of blooming peonies. This means I run out to the garden and hastily pick a bouquet for the table and, if I want to paint them, I need to drop everything else that day and get busy! Sure enough, the next morning the peony bushes outside looked very much worse for wear.
